Michael Thomas "Mike" Gregg of New Braunfels died peacefully in Austin June 19, 2013. He was born September 21, 1942 in Cotulla, Texas to Maude and Thomas Gregg. Upon graduating Refugio High School he worked on South Texas ranches and soon became a Texas peace officer serving Refugio, Goliad and Aransas counties. He was elected Constable in Rockport, Aransas County where he served until his retirement December 2012 and moved to Comal County to be closer to family. He had a fulfilling 42 year law enforcement career in which he was proud to respectfully serve and protect his fellow man.

He is survived by his wife Mimi Whittington Gregg, his sister Patricia Whitenton, his mother Maude Kelley Gregg and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a longtime member of the Coastal Bend Peace Officers Association and dedicated most of his life to public service. Mike never met a stranger and welcomed the opportunity to meet new people. His easy going demeanor, quick wit and humor made him an instant friend. He was truly one of a kind! Once you met Mike, you remembered him with a smile on your face.

Visitation was held in Refugio at Moore Funeral Home on Tuesday June 25th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

Services was held in Goliad at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Wednesday June 26th at 10:30am with a private burial to follow at the family ranch in Goliad County.

Memorials may be made to St. Stephens's Episcopal Church Goliad or the charity of your choice.
