Many people joined the Woodsboro Veterans to make the annual Memorial Day services at the Square a day to remember.

Nacho Moya not only donated the meat, but cooked it, too. Veronica Montoya, Mary Helen Mendez and Rachael Sanchez cooked the Spanish rice to perfection while Nacho Moya and Kat Foster prepared a generous amount of delicious beans.

But that wasn’t all. Sylvia Alvarado prepared green beans, Rose Martinez furnished the bread and Ron and Teresa Lucich completed the meal with potato salad.

Veronica Soliz furnished the ice and water; while Ray and Estella Quintanilla provided the tea.

Nobody will forget Rose Perez’s delicious and beautifully decorated cake.

The generosity of people such as Felicia and Leo Cantu who donated cake and potatoes; the ladies who helped serve, Ricky and Gayle Piwetz; Carrol Keelie, Pete Moreau, Domingo Vega, Ann Lopez, the Hernandez family, Tuttle’s Grocery and the First National Bank of Woodsboro — what a group of patriotic Americans!

Isaac Jaramillo provided the sound system and music; Zeke Montalvo played taps on his trumpet; Rick Piwetz and Bill Albert and the Boy Scouts of Troop 188 raised the flags; Comander Richard Sanchez and VFW Post 6290 honor guard and the Marine Corps League added dignity to the celebration- what a great bunch of people.

Thanks to everyone that helped in any way. God Bless you all for a glorious Memorial Day.
