REFUGIO – Refugio Lady Cats shut the door early on Bloomington, capturing an 11-1 victory on Friday, April 19, at Refugio.

With six runs in the first three innings, Refugio Lady Cats left no doubt about the eventual outcome. An RBI single by Michelle Rosas and a two-run error in the first inning and a sacrifice fly by Cecilia Bauer during the second inning fueled Refugio Lady Cats’ offense early.

Morgan Klaevemann had two extra-base hits for Refugio Lady Cats. She tripled in the first inning and doubled in the second inning. Kiasha Brown had a triple, one RBI, and two doubles. Jackie Gonzalez had the game winning hit to right field that ended the game.

Bauer brought the heat against Bloomington during her outing. Bloomington managed just three hits off of Bauer, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out five during her five innings of work.

Refugio will face Cotulla in Bi-District play in Refugio at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 29. It will be a one game series.
