Commission member Herndon Williams said needed are 14 images and commitments by sponsors for the calendar.
Numerous photos and images were reviewed after the meeting.
Williams said commitments by sponsors would be needed by Oct. 10.
A sponsorship is $100, the same as last year. Sponsors also get five free calendars.
Checks should be made out to the Refugio County Historical Society, the entity that does finances for the commission.
Once the calendars have been printed, they will sell for $8 each. The money from the sales are divided between the Refugio County Historical Commission and the Refugio County Historical Society for each entities’ projects.
Also, Commissioner Bart Wales announced that he was named the new chairman of the Texas Tropical Trail organization, taking current chairman Nancy Deviney’s place.
Deviney will now be treasurer.
He said the next gathering of the Tropical Trail will be in Roma next Tuesday, Sept. 17. Interested individuals and parties should contact Deviney by Friday, Sept. 13, at email@example.com to RSVP.
Wales also said the 100th meeting of the Texas Tropical Trail will feature a visit to the Mission Sin Caja – an authentic Spanish mission – in Live Oak County and the Lonesome Dove Ranch in McMullen County.
The 100th meeting is scheduled for Jan. 21. Participants will meet in Three Rivers and be taken by bus to the mission and the ranch.
And Refugio will host the Texas Tropical Trail gathering on March 18.
“We’ll probably go to the St. Dennis Chapel, the old Fagan Ranch House and the Aransas Wildlife Refuge,” Wales said.
