The Goliad Special Education Cooperative receives funds from the individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004.

GSEC serves as the special education support and resource organization for the following public school districts: Austwell-Tivoli, Bloomington, Falls City, Goliad, Karnes City, Kenedy, Rufugio, Runge, Stockdale, and Woodsboro.

IDEA 2004 requires that timely and meaningful consultation occur between the local school district and private, religious, or home school officials prior to any decision that affects the location, identification, and provision of services to the parentally placed private school children attending school in a private, religious, or home school within the jurisdiction of the public school districts.

A consultation meeting will be held on Thursday, May 9 at 4 p.m. at the GSEC offices located at 314 E. Pearl in Goliad to plan for the upcoming school year.
