On Friday, April 26, the Falls City girls and boys competed in day one of the Regional Track Meet in Judson.

Friday included prelims and a portion of field events.

Regional Qualifiers that participated on Friday were Caitlin Jendrusch in Shot put which finished fourth and Shaw Moy in Pole Vault, also finishing fourth.

In the running prelims the 400m relay which consisted of Haleigh Blocker, Kaelan Cheatham, Taylor Dziuk and Kayla Kotara finished second which advanced them to the finals on Saturday.

Also advancing to the finals was Alyssa Dziuk in the 800m run, Haleigh Blocker, Taylor Dziuk, Kayla Kotara and Shaw Moy in the 800m relay; Kaelan Cheatham in the 300 Hurdles and Haleigh Blocker, Kaelan Cheatham, Kayla Kotara, and Shaw Moy in the 1600m relay.

On Saturday the finals were held which advances the top two finishers to the State Track Meet in Austin, May 10-11.

Participating in Discus were Tiffany Dziuk and Caitlin Jendrusch. Tiffany finished second which advanced her to the state track meet and

Caitlin finished third.

The girls 400m relay finished third in the finals with a time a 50:67. Alyssa Dziuk also placed third in the 800m run with a time of 2:28.42.

The 800m relay finished second with a time 1:45.60 which advances to the state track meet. Kaelan Cheatham placed fourth in the 300 hurdles, 49.79.

Katie Pollok competed in the 1600m run and finished sixth with a 5:52.67. The 1600m relay concluded the meet with a first place trophy and a state qualifying time of 4:04.60.

After the conclusion of field events and running the nine varsity girl competetors scored a total of 81 points to win the Region IV-1A Meet. Second place was Harper with a total of 78 points.

Congratualtions to the following State Qualifiers: Seniors-Tiffany Dziuk, Kayla Kotara, Shaw Moy; Juniors-Taylor Dziuk, Sophmore-Haleigh Blocker and Freshman Kaelan Cheatham.

The State Track Meet will be held on May 10-11 at Mike Meyers Stadium, Austin, Texas.
