REFUGIO – Andres Q. Pena, 91, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013.

Mr. Pena was born in Alfred on Dec. 11, 1921, to Efredencio and Juana Pena. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Survivors include a son, Jesus M. Pena of Woodsboro; two daughters, Andrea Vasquez of Woodsboro and Aosa M. Pena of Austin; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will be conducted there at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27. Burial will follow at LaRosa Cemetery in Woodsboro.


Johnnie Marie Lott Shaw Price died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, in Waco.

Mrs. Price was born June 1, 1947, in Refugio, to Johnnie Waymond “JY” Lott and Lillie Alice Ward-Lott. She was member of Saint Ivlark Baptist Church in Waco and worked for the Home Health Care industry.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Albert Price.

Survivors include five sons, Charles (Tina) Lott, Elbert (Carrie) Shaw Jr., Cornell Shaw, Stacey (Pam) Shaw and Brandy (Lucinda) Wright; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; an aunt, Shirley Rhodes; and an uncle, Roosevelt Henry Lewis.

The funeral service was conducted Saturday Sept. 21, at Moore Funeral Home. Burial was in Community Cemetery.
