He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad and Valero Energy. He was the owner of Rosebud’s Auto Sales, The Ranchers Inn, Paradise Cove/ Rosebud’s in Corpus Christi, the 19th Hole Patio Cantina, RBK Stables and RBK Hauling, Toot-n-Tote and Pardner’s Club. He was part owner of The Flamingo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Roger Baird and brother-in-law, Jim Billings.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Kellene H. Owen Baird of Beeville; two daughters, Stacy Inez Jones of New Braunfels and Leslie Shae Baird of Pettus; a son, Charles Dustin Baird of Skidmore; a sister, Carol Darnell Baird (Dan Winter) Billings of Corpus Christi; a sister-in-law, Janie Lowe Baird of Papalote; three grandsons; three granddaughters; five nieces; and three nephews.
Visitation was held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A graveside service followed at 3 p.m. at the Baird Ranch Cemetery, 2411 FM 1349, Bee County.
Pallbearers were Ernie Ramon, Justin McCord, Stewart Wofford, Daryl Gandy, Charlie Herzog and J.R. Robling.
