Myca Reed of Live Oak County has been chosen to participate in the Texas Brigades program this summer. She was selected based on her academic records, interest in wildlife and natural resources, and leadership activities.

The Texas Brigades’ mission is to educate and empower youths with leadership skills and knowledge in wildlife, fisheries, and land stewardship to become conservation ambassadors for a sustained natural resource legacy. This is the 21st year of the brigades.

There are seven Brigade camps this summer: two Buckskin Brigades, two Bobwhite Brigades, Bass Brigade, Waterfowl Brigade, and Ranch Brigade.

Due to the high interest of these camps, the application season is closed for this year’s camps. For information regarding the 2014 camps contact Helen Holdsworth, Executive Director, at 855-TXBRIGS or 210-556-1391, or via email at hholdsworth@texas-wildlife.org.
