Lady Bulldogs defeat Ingleside Mustangs

The TR freshman and JV Lady Bulldog Volleyball teams participated at the Odem tournament on Aug. 17, the freshman team beat Karnes City in the championship game to win the tournament. Bottom row, Olivia Ayala , Kylie Garner, Lillie Council, Micaela Boutwell and Angelina Bowerman, Adrianna Anzaldua, Kelsy Wells, Alanna Quiros, Ariel Garza.  The TR JV team took a consolation spot at the tournament.  The varsity team participated at the CCISD Spikefest in Corpus Christi on the same day.  After defeating three teams handedly, the squad returned home with a consolation trophy as well.

Three Rivers High School’s volleyball team hosted and defeated Ingleside 3-1 on Aug. 13.

The Lady Bulldogs came out strong with 25-9 and 25-14 in the first two games. Ingleside narrowly beat the Lady Bulldogs in the third round 23-25, but the Lady Bulldogs came back as top dogs with 25-22 in the final game.

Serving aces were Shea White with three, McKenzie Ruiz two, and Haleigh Garcia, Sara Saenz and Anissa Alvarez with one each.

Garcia led the kills with 19, Ruiz with six, Amy Ross with four, Kaitlyn Shipman three; White and Johni Escamilla had one each.

White led the assists with 18, Ruiz, Sara Saenz and Garcia each had one. Saenz led the digs with 26, followed by Garcia with 18, Alvarez with nine, Brooklynn Soliz and White with four each, Ruiz has three, Escamilla had two, Vanessa Stewart, Ross and Shipman each had one. Garcia had three solo blocks, and Ruiz had one.

The Lady Bulldogs will be hosting a home tournament throughout the day on Aug. 22 and 24.
