The Trojan golf clinic tees off next Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Beeville’s municipal golf course under the tutelage of coach Jay Viertel.
“We want to create some interest and build a good solid foundation for the Trojans to compete at golf for the years to come,” Viertel said.
The clinic or camp begins on June 17 and runs through July 15, meeting each Tuesday evening at the clubhouse at the John C. Beasley course.
“We’ll have different stations set up to practice putting, chipping and other practice variations, and then the players will rotate through them all before hitting the range to put into play what they just finished learning,” Viertel said.
The clinics are free and open for BISD students entering the seventh through 12th grades. Both boys and girls are welcome to come and enjoy an evening of golf instruction.
Bring your clubs, a few balls and become a better golfer, the coach said, adding that it is a sport you can play for a lifetime.
