This award is based on a chapter’s overall participation for one calendar year in a variety of FFA activities at the local, district, area, state and national levels.
Tilden was ranked fourth place for all the single-teacher agriculture departments statewide. Also during the convention, four members received their Lone Star FFA Degrees, the highest degree bestowed upon FFA members by the Texas FFA Association. These members were Hillary Gillin, Mamie Shelton, Allie Donnell, and Brandon Patterson. Joseph Stanley was a semi-finalist in the State FFA Extemporaneous Public Speaking event.
“We are very fortunate in our small school to have students of all academic levels and of varied interests participate in agricultural science and the FFA. Many larger schools often have trouble getting these types of youngsters into their ag programs” said Advisor Jim Harris.
