GOLIAD – The Goliad Tigerettes overcame a 2-0 deficit to rally to a five-set victory over the Edna Cowgirls on Tuesday night and clinch at least a tie for the District 30-2A volleyball title.

Goliad improved to 26-8 overall and 12-0 in district play with two 30-2A matches remaining. A win over either Tidehaven or Industrial will secure Goliad the outright championship.

Edna won the first two sets 25-23, 25-22 before the Tigerettes came back with 25-21, 25-19 wins in the next two sets. Goliad held on for a 15-12 win in the third set to capture the match.

Goliad's Megan Hilscher had 16 kills and 21 digs while Roxanne Morris tallied 13 kills, 16 digs and two service aces.

The Tigerettes' Ashtin Zamzow recorded 12 kills, 14 digs, 22 assists and two blocks. Bethany Salziger had 12 kills and three service aces, while Kendall Coles had 27 assists.
