The TAMUCC Mobile Go Center travels to schools in the Coastal Bend with the intent of promoting college awareness and preparing students in grades K-12 for college readiness. The Mobile Go Center is a 42-foot trailer, pulled by a 2010 Chevy Crew Cab truck, equipped with 20 Dell laptops with high speed Internet access, and a variety of printed resources and publications to provide individuals and their families in the Coastal Bend area with information pertaining to college access and success. The trailer will be parked in the front parking lot of A. C. Jones High School along North Adams Street.
Seniors who attend the application workshop can apply for admission to any college and/or university of their choice. They should bring their resume and any essays they may have started. Seniors are also asked to keep in mind that not all colleges or universities request an essay.
“Most college applications were available Aug. 1st, and many of the more selective colleges and universities have early deadlines for enrollment. Applying early gives you the time to review and compare scholarship and financial aid offers,” says Brenda DeLaRosa, program administrator for the Joe Barnhart Scholarship Program.
