There will be two events to raise funds for the family of Trey Psencik, a Goliad High School teacher who died in a car accident in June.

A benefit barbecue will be held Sunday, Oct. 28 at the Goliad County Fairgrounds. The plates will consist of a choice of beef brisket or a half-chicken with all the trimmings. The price per plate will be $7. There will also be a bake sale.

Psencik and his students often rebuilt old tractors. One of their projects was a 1949 Ford 8N. The tractor has a Henry V-8 conversion 1949 block bored .040 with new pistons and rings. The tractor raffle tickets are available for $10 per ticket.

The winning raffle ticket will be announced Friday, Nov. 30, on the Goliad County the Courthouse Square during Christmas in Goliad.

All the proceeds from the events will be going into a fund for the Psencik children. For more information, call 361-645-9131.
