GOLIAD – Ted Long, Goliad County Commissioner in Precinct 4, announced Friday in a statement to the Advance-Guard that he will not seek re-election when his term expires in December 2014. Long has been on the commissioners court for the past 11 years.

“These past years have been very rewarding yet challenging times,” Long said. “After careful consideration, my family and I have come to the conclusion that it is time to explore new opportunities, therefore, I will not seek a fourth term as Goliad County Commissioner.

“I would like to thank everyone who has stood with me over the past years through both good and bad times. This has been a very rewarding experience and I look forward to starting the next chapter in my life.”
