With an active list of activities during the month of June, The Kenedy 4B volleyball team completed it's month of competition at the McMullen County volleyball league this past Monday, June 24. The team ended with a 6-2 record, with wins over Three Rivers Red, Charlotte twice, Poteet Maroon, Poteet White, Three Rivers White.
Volleyball camp is scheduled for the dates listed and will be conducted by Coach Alvin Mumpford from St. Joseph High School. Coach Mumpford lead his Lady Flyers team to the TAPPS Class 4A State Finals in 2012 and had 4 girls from St. Joseph named to the All-State team. Assisting Coach Mumpford will be Kayla Krietsch, who led this years 4B volleyball team at the McMullen County league to a 6-2 record. This camp is free to the athlete but they must be registered prior to the camp to attend. If your child has not registered with Kenedy 4B for this volleyball camp, they need to contact Coach DeLaGarza at 830-583-4387 as soon as possible to request a form. Forms will be available on the morning of the beginning of camp, but they must be completed by the parent before the student takes to the volleyball court. No form, no participation. Junior High (6th thru 8th grade) School Volleyball summer camp will be July 29 - Aug. 2, KHS George Dumont Gym, 8:30 to 12 noon and High School (9th thru 12th) Volleyball summer camp will be July 29 - Aug 2, KHS George Dumont Gym, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Track and Field has come to it's conclusion for the summer. We want to thank Coach Michael Booker for his assistance.
Basketball Camp for girls was also held in June, we want to thank Coach Bell and the girls for coming out and participating.
Afternoon football drills, strength and conditioning clinic. Kenedy 4B is considering an afternoon football clinic for incoming Kenedy 6th grade thru incoming 9th grade students. If you have an athlete who wishes to participate, they need to contact Coach DeLaGarza at 830-583-4387. We will need at least 15 boys to register to conduct this camp. The camp will run from July 22 thru July 25 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. It will be conducted at Lions Field, water, snacks and fruit will be provide to fight the afternoon heat at no cost to the participants. The deadline to contact Coach DeLaGarza is July 17. The camp will be free and will be focusing on punt, pass, kick, football drills and strength and conditioning. If enough athletes sign up to attend, the camp will be conducted by Coach Michael Booker and St. Joseph's High School Coach DeLaGarza.
