Julio Loya Sanchez of Beeville, 77, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, in a Corpus Christi Hospital after a sudden illness.

Mr. Sanchez was born on June 19, 1932, in Beeville to Julio Sanchez and Fidela (Loya) Sanchez. He was owner and operator of Sanchez Texaco service station and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Estella G. Sanchez; a daughter, Ruby Ann Sanchez of San Antonio; two sons, Edward Lee Sanchez of Beeville and Jerry Sanchez of Dallas; a sister, Josie Loya Posada of Beeville; two grandchildren, Melissa Ann Sanchez and Monica Michelle Sanchez; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Julio and Fidela Sanchez; and one brother, Fred Loya Sanchez.

Visitation was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Treviño Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there at 7 o’clock that evening.

The funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with Father Eddie Garcia and Father Pat Donohoe officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Garza, Jonathan Beemer, David Sanchez, Daniel Mesquita, Robert Sanchez, Luz Garza Jr. and Roy Garza.
