GCSO identifies dead couple found in Weesatche

WEESATCHE – The Goliad County Sheriff's Office has released the identities of the married couple found dead in a Weesatche home Thursday morning.

Dennis and Ida Reitz were found with gunshot wounds, according to GCSO Captain Tom Copeland.

The deaths are still being investigated.

At 6:26 a.m., the Goliad County Sheriff's Office responded to a call from a family member at the 2000 block of Farm-to-Market Road 884.

GCSO Sergeant Adam Irwinsky said the two bodies were discovered at the scene and the two were related.

Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Steve Kennedy pronounced the two dead at the scene and the bodies were sent for autopsies. Names of the two people have not been released.
