FASHING – The Fashing-Peggy Water Supply Corporation (WSC) merged with El Oso Water Supply Corporation on Dec. 31, after 45 years serving the rural community of Fashing, Peggy and Esseville.

Fashing-Peggy WSC has served rural people with good potable water, Fashing-Peggy WSC Manager F. Shelby Henke said.

“Now, merging with El Oso W.S.C., the customers of the Fashing-Peggy W.S.C. should expect to continue to have good water service,” Henke added.

“The Fashing-Peggy W.S.C. had a good run for 45 years,” Henke said regarding the history of the corporation. “The dedication and open house was held on April 20, 1969 at the plant with the first annual meeting following at the Fashing School auditorium. The directors elected were Felix B. Henke - President; H.A. Schumann - Vice President; Albert Schroeder - Secretary/Treasurer; Tom Lytle, Sr. and E.O. Hierholzer - Directors; and F. Shelby Henke - Executive Secretary.”

With the manager, F. Shelby Henke, retiring after 45 years, the board interviewed replacements of the manager, but then talked with El Oso WSC. about merging.

“Now that the merger is complete, Fashing-Peggy WSC members have become El Oso WSC members,” Henke explained.
