Country musician Watson to play at Schroeder Hall

SCHROEDER – The 2010 Country Legend of the Year Gene Watson & the Farewell Party Band will perform at Schroeder Hall on Saturday, Aug. 24.

Doors will open at 8 p.m. and music will begin at 9 p.m. Tickets are $25 advance/$30 at the door. A special $50 VIP ticket will be offered online only at

The VIP ticket includes the dance/show, reserved seating along the dance floor, wine and cheese and a meet- and-greet with Watson.

Watson has six No. 1 country hits, 23 top-10 hits and over 75 charted songs. Last week, he was inducted into the inaugural class for the Houston Music Hall of Fame, adding to his membership in the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.

Citadel Media’s Real Country Radio Network awarded Gene Watson the title of 2010 Legend of the Year from its annual national fan voted contest, where he bested such stars as George Strait, Alan Jackson and Reba McEntire for the honor.
