BEEVILLE – Coastal Bend College men’s soccer team will play three scrimmages against area teams on Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Gregory-Portland soccer field.

Those participating include CC Dynamo, GP United and U-18 Valley Dynamo.

The scrimmages will consist of two 30-minute halves and be played at Gregory-Portland Soccer Field on two separate fields.

CBC will play CC Dynamo at 4 p.m., U-18 Valley Dynamo at 5:45 p.m. and U-19 GP United at 8:45 p.m.

“I’m excited for this upcoming season,” said CBC coach Bill Cleavelin, “This team is possibly the best we’ve had and I’m looking forward to working to make the regional tournament.”

John Jimenez is assistant coach for the Cougars. CBC starts its official season with a game against the University of Dallas on Aug. 25 at 3 p.m. in Dallas.

“The boys have been working hard to get ready for the season. This will be our first real test,” Cleavelin said.

CBC was created in 1965 as Bee County College and changed names in 1998. CBC’s main campus is in Beeville, but has three other campuses in South Texas.
