BAM announces summer art camps

The Beeville Art Museum contracts artists to teach weeklong classes in painting, sculpture, drawing, photography and, most recently, a mural project. Student art created in the classes is featured each August in a student exhibit. Prior registration in person is required along with a $2 fee per student.

Summer Art Camp

• July 8-12, 9-10:30 a.m. Ages: 7-9; cost: $2; register in person. Registration begins June 10.

Students will create torn paper masks, melted crayon mobiles, paper marionettes and a self-portrait using oil pastels on black paper.

• July 8-12, 1:30-3 p.m. Ages: 10-12; cost: $2; register in person. Registration begins June 10.

Students will create mixed media masks, melted crayon mobiles, shadow puppets and a self-portrait using watercolor pencil paintings on tag board.
