RUNGE – The Runge Museum Association (RMA) held a meeting June 17 to discuss progress in the renovations and improvements that are in the works for the Runge Museum.

A focal point of the meeting was the updating of the museum’s air conditioning system. RMA officials state that the upgraded air conditioning system will be in place soon and is an important improvement to the museum and necessary for providing patrons with a comfortable museum experience.

“The system should be up and going soon,” said RMA Vice-President Mary Beth Morgan after the meeting. “A big thanks to several of the museum members who have made arrangements for this to happen.”

Other facility improvements soon to follow include window blinds, awning and floor covering. The overall improvements and upgrades are going toward the ultimate goal of fully restoring the museum and reopening it again to full and regular operating hours in the near future.

The Runge Museum is also making plans for the Fourth of July celebration and will be a part of the city’s festivities and activities on that day. The museum will be open on July 4 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Festive American flags will be available and cold drinks will be for sale outside of the museum.
