Mildred Minnie Ida Kellner DeAtley, 88, died, of natural causes, in Corpus Christi on April 3, 2014.

She was born August 13, 1925, in San Antonio and was raised in Fashing. Her parents were Henry Richard Kellner and Melanie Hierholzer Kellner. She was baptized at the Fashing United Methodist Church. She married Charles Lawrence DeAtley on June 28, 1947 at the Fashing United Methodist Church. The couple lived in San Antonio for a while and then moved to Fort Worth. In 1961, they moved to Corpus Christi. After her mother’s death, she moved back to become a rancher at the HRK Ranch in Fashing. She became a member of the Fashing UMC. She was also a member of the FUMW. She enjoyed playing 42 dominoes, was an excellent seamstress and a great cook.

Survivors include her son, Lawrence DeAtley; daughter, Melanie Kay (Joe) DeAtley Bishop; six grandsons: Benjamin Keith DeAtley, Joshua Lane DeAtley, Justin Sean DeAtley, Cameron Trent Harris, Charles Trevor Harris, and Harold Joe “Trey” Bishop III and eight great grandsons and great granddaughters.

She is preceded in death by her son, Charles Dale DeAtley.

Visitation was held from 6 - 8p.m. Saturday, April 5.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 6 at Rhodes Funeral Home in Karnes City at 2 p.m.

Burial followed at the Fashing Cemetery. Pallbearers were Trent Harris, Trevor Harris, Trey Bishop, Keith DeAtley, Josh DeAtley, and Justin DeAtley.
