Marriage announcement: Willemse and Brett united in marriage

Lydia Willemse of Forest, Ontario, Canada and Wade Brett of Enid, Oklahoma, were married at 5 p.m., on September 10, 2011, at the Willemse Farm in Forest, Ontario. Minister Sandra Cable officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Harry and Lorraine Willemse of Forest, Ontario. She is the granddaughter of the late Frank and Gloria Carson and the late Henry and Jonana Willemse.

The groom is the son of Jody an Patsy Brett of Port Lavaca. He is the grandson of Susie Yanta of Karnes City and the late Bennie Yanta, and the late Joe F. and Ora Brett.

Anna Cleaver of Forest, Ontario, sister of the bride, attended as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Leah Willemse of Forest, Ontario, sister-in-law of the bride, and Hannah England of Oxford, England.

Clay Brett of Port Lavaca, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Roel Almendarez of San Antonio and Maarten Van den Heuvel of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

A reception was held following the ceremony at the Willemse Farm. Following wedding travel to St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Enid, Oklahoma.

The bride is a 2004 graduate of St. Christopher’s Secondary School in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada and a 2010 graduate from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry.

The groom is a 1997 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Also, Wade is a 2002 graduate of Florida State University with a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering. Currently, Wade is a Captain in the US Air Force stationed at Vance Air Force Base as an instructor pilot in the T-1 aircraft.
