Kenedy Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society is officially a Charter to the National Junior Honor Society. The purpose of this chapter is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and citizenship, and to encourage the development of character in students of Kenedy Middle School.

Membership eligibility:

Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must be in seventh or eighth grade or 2nd semester of 6th grade.

To be eligible for selection to membership in this chapter, the candidate must have been in attendance for a period of one semester at Kenedy Middle School.

Candidates eligible for selection to the chapter shall have a minimum grade point average of 85% in all academic courses.

Upon meeting the grade level, attendance, and GPA standard requirements, candidates shall then be considered based on their service, leadership, citizenship, and character.

Selection of Members:

The selection of members to this chapter shall be a majority vote of the Faculty Council consisting of five faculty members appointed by the principal. The chapter adviser shall be the sixth, nonvoting, ex officio member of the Faculty Council.

The selection of new active members shall be held once a year during second semester for the 2013-2014 school year and then beginning in the 2014-2015 school year the school will select new active members in the fall and spring semester.
