EXTENSION OFFICE HAS MOVED

Please note our recent change of address. The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension office is now located at 115 North Market, Karnes City.

STEER VALIDATION DEADLINE

The deadline for Texas 4-H Steer validation is April 18.

COUNTY CAMP

Registration is open March 1 – June 1 for county camp. Karnes County will be going July 8- July 1. County Camp will be at the Texas 4-H Center in Brownwood. For more information, refer to the information posted on the county website.

CONSUMER DECISION MAKING

The Karnes County 4-H Consumer Decision Making Team will be competing at the District Contest on April 11 in Halletsville. The Consumer Decision making contest is a competitive event that enables 4-H members to practice making decisions based on information about a situation and four available marketplace options.

DISTRICT LIVESTOCK JUDGING

The Karnes County 4-H livestock judging team will compete in the District Contest in College Station on April 20.

DISTRICT FASHION SHOW

Karnes County will be represented by one 4-H’er at the District Fashion Show at the Victoria Mall on April 27.

COUNCIL MEETING

The next county council meeting will be April 29 at 7 p.m. at the extension office located at 115 N. Market St., Karnes City.

ADULT LEADERS ASSOCIATION

The next Adult Leaders Association meeting will be April 29 at 7 p.m. at the extension office.

ATTENTION SENIORS

Any high school seniors that are active 4-H or FFA members in good standing and interested in applying for the Karnes County Youth Show, Travis Lynch Memorial, or Dove Country Classic Scholarships, please contact your school counselor, ag teacher, or county agent for an application. Applications are also available on the county website. Scholarship applications are due to the extension office no later than April 1 at 4 p.m. No exceptions.

Falls City: 1st Sunday of each month, 6 p.m., Falls City Ag Shop; Panna Maria: 1st Sunday of each month, 6:30 p.m., Panna Maria School Bldg.; Runge: 2nd Sunday of each month, 3 p.m., Connie Smart -CPA office; Lonesome Dove: 2nd Monday of each month, 6:30 p.m., It’s A Small World Nursery School, Karnes City; Kenedy: 3rd Tuesday of each month, 7:15 p.m., Kenedy Fire Station.
