Summer is finally here, and I am giddy with excitement. I hate the heat and I hate the humidity, but I love summer reading. This year's Summer Reading program has a science theme, and it's going to be a lot of fun: slime, goop, bubbles, geysers, and various things that go boom.
Our official start date is Tuesday, June 10 and we'll run through Friday, July 18. We'll have programs going on every Monday and Thursday at 1 p.m., and these programs will include experiments, stories, crafts, live animals, and more.
Prizes for the program this year will include free snowcones from Albiar's Snowcone Place, Redbox gift cards, a jumbo inflatable monkey, an awesome Lego bucket, tickets to the Texas State Aquarium, and maybe even a shrieking flying monkey or two.
Registration begins Thursday, June 5 at 1 p.m. with a program on origami led by Diana Lopez and family. We've got origami books on animals, sea creatures, and even origami weapons. We'll provide the paper, so just bring yourself.

We can't wait to see you there!
P.S. We will be having another Throwdown later this summer for older kids and adults, but I'll save the details till we get a little closer to starting time.
