Quest Newberry and Kate Jimerson are members of the George West High School Live Stock Judging Team which earned first place at the state level last May.  Their team advanced to National Competition in Louisville, Ky. which took place Oct. 30 and 31.  The George West Live Stock Judging Team placed 17th overall out of 46 teams.  Quest placed 21st and Kate 42nd overall individually out of 188 contestants.  Quest earned 4th place overall in sheep and goat judging while Kate placed 3rd overall in swine competition. They earned gold ratings for their performance. Quest is the son of Norleen and Jay Newberry of George West and the grandson of Beverly Newberry of Kenedy and Emma Kotara, formerly of Falls City, currently residing at Bluebonnet Nursing Home in Karnes City.  Kate is the daughter of Ellie and Jay Jimerson of George West, and the granddaughter of Ellen Snider of George West and Linda and Tommy Jimerson of Choate.
