She was born in Kenedy on July 30, 1926 to Vidal and Felipa Espiriqueta Herrera.
Survivors include sons, Juan (Aurora) Cardona of Boise City, OK, Joe Louis (Terri) Cardona of Corpus Christi, and Mike Cardona of Kenedy; daughter, Sandra Belasquez of Kenedy; brothers, Joe Herrera of Lubbock, and Santos Garza of Denver City; sister, Fannie Aguirre of Pawnee, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Espiridion Cardona; daughters, Juanita Garza and Maria Ignacia Cardona; sister Simona Salas; and brother Vidal Herrera, Jr.
Visitation was held Friday, April 19 at 3 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Sinton with rosary recited that evening at 7 p.m.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, April 20 at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Sinton with Father Patrick Serna officiating.
Burial followed at John J. Welder Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Paul.
