Anita Guerrero Ramirez, 86, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at Whispering Oaks Nursing Home, in Cuero.

Anita was born Nov. 17, 1926, in Charco to Santiago Guerrero and Agapita DeLuna Guerrero. She worked for many years as a CNA working in Goliad, Kenedy and Beeville. On January 28, 1941, Anita married Jose Ramirez, Jr. in Goliad. She was a member of the Pentecostal Temple Monte Horeb Church in Yorktown.

Survivors include her daughters, Beatrice (Harry) Thompson, JoAnn (Ariel) Cuellar, Sylvia (Larry) Naranjo and Diane (Guadalupe) Reyes; her grandchildren, Vince (Gail) Cuellar, Valen (Sandy) Cuellar, René (JoAnn) Cantú; three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jose Ramirez, Jr.; her sister Rosa Garcia and her brother Jose DeLuna.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Feb. 20 in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel, Kenedy with a prayer service held at 7 p.m. that evening officiated by Rev. Eliseo Rios and Dr. Honorio Velázquez.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21 in the Eckols Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Charco Cemetery, Charco.

Pallbearers were Vince Cuellar, Valen Cuellar, René Cantú, Jeremy Jay Reyes, Cresencio Rangel, Sr. and Cresencio Rangel, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Domingo Ramirez, Jr. and Alex Rodriguez.
