GOLIAD - Pete "Buddy" Roland Elizondo, 62, of Goliad, formerly of Victoria, passed away Feb. 27, 2013 after fighting a long battle with cancer.

He was a Catholic and a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Goliad.

He was born to Pedro and Mary "Mamie" Elizondo on Aug. 28, 1950, in Victoria. He was recently retired from Victoria Independent School District, as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired after 20 years of service with a rank of Master Sergeant.

Pete is survived by his wife of 41 years, Rosalinda; daughter Audrey Koehler and her husband Kris of San Antonio; his son Peter of Singapore; and son Philip and his wife Liza of Kyle; five grand-children: David, Jayden, Devin, Trae, and Kensi; siblings Mary Elizondo Rendon and husband Lupe, Toni Elizondo Salinas and husband Paul, and Steve Elizondo and wife Ina; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Soto and nephew Joey Salinas.

The family would like to give a special Thanks to Dr. Romero, Dr. Qadri, Dr. Janssen, Dr. Llampart, the MICU nurses, all staff at Citizens Medical Center, and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.

Visitation will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 3 with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Artero Memorial Chapels in Victoria. Visitation will resume from 9 to 10 a.m. before a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 4 at Immaculate Conception Church in Goliad, with a burial to follow at La Bahia Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Koehler, Kris Koehler, Bruno Garcia, Jesse Guzman, Anthony Segura, Lupe Rendon III, John Rendon, Eric Salinas, Doyle Perkins, Kevin Camacho

Honorary pallbearers will be St. Joseph High School Class of 1969, employees of VISD Maintenance Dept.
