She was born on her family's ranch on Dec. 21, 1924.
Mrs. Dye was a life-long, fourth-generation resident of Goliad County with a rich family heritage dating back to prior to the Texas Revolution. A friend once described her as a "pioneer woman."
She is survived by her husband, Morris Neil Dye, and daughter, Pamela Christopher. Her grandchildren are Travis Dye, Forrest Dye, Rachel Christopher and John Christopher. Great-grandchildren are Alison Dye, David Dye, John Christopher IV, Nathaniel Christopher, and Patrick Christopher. She was preceded in death by parents, Josie Danforth Stewart and James L Stewart, her brother, James Fate Stewart and her son, David Neil Dye.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 11, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Goliad for all who wish to honor her life and to share a time of fellowship with family and friends. Mrs. Dye will be laid to rest in Glendale Cemetery.
The family requests that donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice in lieu of floral arrangements.
