It’s time for annual 4-H pecan and peanut fundraiser.

Contact any 4-Her or call the Goliad County Extension Office at 361-645-8204 to place an order. Orders will be taken until noon Oct. 16. Delivery should be mid- November.

Quality Counts

“Texas Trail,” the online delivery component of Quality Counts, has found a new home.

The online modules are available on the eXtension online campus at campus.extension.org. Hosting Texas Trail on the eXtension campus allows greater flexibility with maintaining the online modules and tracking their use.

We have a one-page document that outlines the process of creating an account on the eXtension campus and enrolling in the Quality Counts course in order to access the modules.

As members work to verify in Quality Counts, consider the  Texas Trail as a viable option to compete in major shows.

9-1-1 signs available

4-H’ers are currently selling 9-1-1 signs.

Contact a 4-H member or call the Goliad County Extension Office at 645-8204 to place an order.

The 12-inch-by-6-inch signs are $15 for three to four numbers and 18-inch-by-6-inch are $16 for five numbers.

To find out a correct 9-1-1 address, call Golden Crescent at 578-1587.

This is not a fundraiser, just a community service project to help Goliad County.

Barn cleanup scheduled

The one-day 4-H project for Saturday, Oct. 12 will be a barn cleanup in preparation for the La Bahia Fall Classic Steer Prospect Show.

Cleanup will begin at 9 a.m. at the fair barn. There will be mowing around the barn, weed eating, cleaning wash racks, moving panels and setting up the show ring.

Prospect steer show

There will be a prospect steer show Oct. 26 at the Goliad County Fair Grounds.

There will be two rings. Entry fee is $20 per ring.

All proceeds will benefit Goliad County Fair steer exhibitors.

Contact Michael Dohmann at 361-564-8184 or mail entries to Goliad County Fair Association, P.O. Box 295, Goliad, TX 77963.
