My life is not perfect and I experience down times and frustrations in the rearing of my little ones and in life in general. Who am I, anyway, to be writing and speaking to anyone?
Then I come across someone in pain and I can think of nothing to say to them to ease that pain except that God is Love. He formed the heavens and the earth and everything we see and He created us in His image. He loved us enough to send His son for us. He knows the plans He has for us; knew us before we were formed in our mothers’ wombs.
He knows what is in our hearts, and when we pray to know Him more, He puts into play what we need to experience to do just that. All along the way, He prepares us to handle whatever circumstance we may encounter. He knows what it is to be falsely accused and places just the right people around us to help us through whatever we experience.
We attempt to find Him through the dense forest of confusion we may encounter. Sometimes we busy ourselves in our work to hide from the realities we face. Sometimes we move to some alternate truth to better cope, grasping at the seemingly solid evidence it offers.
Our achievements become the proof of our value, we believe. We fall away for a time with the trying and testing of our faith in who and what He is in our lives and our particular schema of what the world should be.
I am not denigrating anyone’s beliefs or views of the world, but I do know that all roads lead back to Him. We are not accidents. The world did not miraculously fall into place. We have not evolved from animals, despite our sometimes animalistic behaviors.
In our struggles, no matter what others may think they know, rest assured that God knows the truth of our situation. He will allow it to be revealed in due time.
These scriptures came to mind as I wrote this. Found in Matthew 10:26,28; “So have no fear of them: for nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, or kept secret that will not become known…And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.”
And I am reminded of James 1:2-3, 4, “Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of our faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience…, so that you may be perfectly and fully developed lacking in nothing.”
I know, too, that we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. As I searched for certain truths from God’s word, I came across 2 Timothy 4 - “At my first trial no one acted in my defense or took my part or stood with me, but all forsook me. May it not be charged against them! But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was delivered out of the jaws of the lion. The Lord will certainly deliver and draw me to Himself from every assault of evil. He will preserve and bring me safe unto His heavenly kingdom. To Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.” (Verses 16-18)
All easy to say as I am not in the middle of the turmoil, but these are His promises and His truths. Remain steadfast and upright.
Final note - In Psalm 17 we read, “Show Your marvelous loving kindness, O You Who save by Your right hand those who trust and take refuge in You from those who rise up against them. Keep and guard me as the pupil of Your eye: hide me in the shadow of Your wings. From the wicked who despoil and oppress me, my deadly adversaries who surround me…As for me, I will continue beholding Your face in righteousness; I shall be fully satisfied, when I awake beholding Your form.” (Verses 7-9, 15)
We are meant to glorify Him. How can we do that through what we are experiencing today? This day is all we are assured.
God’s peace and love be with you.
