All members are encouraged to attend.
Parents of those planning on showing an animal in the 2014 Goliad County Fair or of those planning on entering the auction division in the homemaking building are required to attend two Goliad County Fair Association meetings between April and March in order for their child to be eligible to participate.
Commercial heifer tag-in
All junior commercial heifer entries will be tagged on Saturday, Sept. 14 between 8 and 10 a.m. at the Goliad County Fair barns.
Exhibitors must bring with them a statement signed by the breeder showing the heifer’s birthdate. Special accommodations may be made with the a chairman, county extension agent and agri science teacher’s approval. Those who have an appointment to have their heifer project calf hood vaccinated before this date, can contact the Goliad County Extension Office and a representative will meet you at the clinic and place the tag at that time. This worked really well last year and it is less stressful.
For information or help in locating some heifers, call Rodney Butler at Beeville Livestock or his mobile at 645-5002.
County steer tag-in
Those planning to show a steer at the Goliad County show and did not attend the major show validation in June must attend the county validation on Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Goliad County Fair barns from 8 to 10 a.m.
Those who have a 2013-2014 major show tag in their steer’s ear are already eligible to exhibit at the Goliad County Fair.
