GOLIAD – Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in identifying the person or persons responsible for burglarizing a residence in the 600 block of Walker Road in late September.

Sometime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sept. 21, person(s) unknown broke into the Lauro Luna residence at 648 Walker Road while the residents were not at home. Entry was gained by kicking open the front door.

Once inside the home, the suspect(s) took a 42-inch Sony television set from the living room and a jewelry box containing assorted items of jewelry and children’s sports medals from a bedroom.

Investigators learned that a witness driving by the residence between noon and 1 p.m. observed a black male individual jogging from a maroon-colored mini-van toward the front door of the residence.

The man was described as wearing a white, sleeveless T-shirt and black shorts.

The witness said the man had a “close-cropped” haircut and was a large man who “looked like a football player who had stopped working out.”

The residents later said they knew of no one meeting that description that should have been at the home during that time.

Anyone with information about who may be responsible for this week’s Crime of the Week is asked to call Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers at 361-362-0206 or 1-877-362-0206.

All calls are anonymous and could earn a cash reward of up to $1,000.
