Ysaac “Chaco” C. Elizalde, 93, was called home by our Lord on June 2, 2014. He was born on April 1, 1921 to Ysidro and Eusebia Elizalde in Beeville, Texas.

He served with the Army in World War II and recently strengthened his faith in God while on his A.C.T.S. retreat with Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. His hobbies included woodworking, gardening, making cascarones and napping. Due to health issues later in life, Ysaac passed of natural causes while gardening.

Ysaac will be remembered for his eagerness to help others, his love for his family and friends, his strong faith in God’s plan, and his perseverance in life’s journey. His infectious smile was difficult to miss as it lit up any room he walked into.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ysidro and Eusebia Elizalde, 7 siblings; and his grandson, John D. Elizalde.

Ysaac is survived by his wife, Elumina D. Elizalde; sons, Ysaac [Dora] Elizalde, Eloy Elizalde; daughter, Nelda Elizalde [Rey Garza]; and his siblings, Josefina Soliz, Cecelia Moron, and David Elizalde; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held 9:00 AM- 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014, at Trevino Funeral Home in Beeville, Texas, with a Rosary to be held at 7:00 PM.

A funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at St. James Catholic Church in Beeville, Texas. Burial immediately followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2 in Beeville, Texas with full military honors.

Pallbearers were Anthony Ramirez, Eloy Elizalde, Jr., Rene Flores, Rudy Medina, Michael Medina, and Carlos Pena. Honorary pallbearer was Joe Anthony Garza.

Condolences may be offered at trevinofh.com.
