Today (Saturday) from 8 to 11 a.m., Whataburger of Beeville will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast benefiting Relay For Life Bee County. Tickets are $3 and can be purchased at Whataburger. Tickets can also be purchased the day of the breakfast.

Last year’s event raised $432. This year’s Relay For Life Bee County committee is hoping the pancake breakfast will attract more customers and raise more money.

“This year, the committee will be at Whataburger greeting customers, selling luminarias and registering survivors,” said Relay For Life chairman Normagrace Flores. “There will also be a raffle for a coffee lovers basket and door prizes every 30 minutes.”

This year’s committee has made a strong presence in the community with the Bark For Life event, the Bras For A Cure event as well as countless bake sales, car washes and other fundraisers throughout the community.

“We are happy to be working with Whataburger in making this event a success. It is a wonderful opportunity for families to have breakfast and support a great cause that has helped so many people in the community,” said survivor coordinator Rose Ann Aleman.

“I encourage all local survivors to come by and register for our relay event. We relay to celebrate the survivors and remember the ones we’ve lost. We also honor the caregivers for the love and support they give loved ones while they battle cancer. We like to meet everyone in the community who has been affected and let them know we honor them and appreciate those who stood by their side. There’s no better time to do that than at a community breakfast.”
