Tri-County CEU Day to be held Dec. 11

Area livestock and forage producers are invited to this year’s Tri-County CEU Day on Dec. 11. The seminar begins at Refugio County Community Center located at the 305 Swift Street, in Refugio. Registration will begin at 7 a.m.

The focus of this year’s program will be weed and brush control and understanding water law. The program will feature specialists focusing on: “Laws and Regulations,” Jon Schmidt, Texas Department of Agriculture; “Pesticide Contamination into Coastal Waterways,” Michael Donalson, Refugio CEA; “Chemical Control Update for Weed and Brush,” Dr. Megan Clayton, Extension Range Specialist; “Water Law,” Tiffany Dowell, Texas A&M AgriLife Specialist and a demonstration on Sprayer Calibration.

Five CEU(s) will be provided at a cost of $50 for all five hours or $10 per hour you want to receive. Hours offered will include (2) in Laws and Regs, (2) in Integrated Pest Management, and (1) in General. This Tri-county event is conducted annually through the planning efforts of the Livestock and Forage Committees of the extension offices.
