On Oct. 1, “National Night Out “was held in Beeville. Again this year the Bee County Sheriff’s Office, Beeville Police Department and Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers teamed up to hold the event; we hope you had fun.
We would like to thank those who helped make it possible. To our county judge, the Honorable David Silva, and the commissioners: Mr. Salazar, Mr. DeWitt, Mr. Rodriguez and Mr. Haggard for all your help, from the use of the parking lot to helping supply the tables and chairs. To the City Council for closing the streets so the children would be safe. To H-E-B and others for donating all the hot dogs, ketchup, mustard and ice cream, to Coca-Cola for supplying some of the sodas. A big thanks to the radio stations and “Big Dan” for being our master of ceremonies (awesome job). Thank you to all who advertised the event of their electronic boards, for everyone who had a game and participated in our first health fair and all the entertainers who helped make the night enjoyable. A special thanks to all the athletes from Coastal Bend College who helped move tables and chairs, and for those that supported the event financially — your monetary donations went to supply the dunk tank, prizes and whatever else was needed.
If you have a business or organization that would like to participate in next’s year National Night Out, send your information to Coastal Bend Crime Stoppers, 210 E. Corpus Christi St., Beeville Texas 78102. We will contact you next year.
Thank you, all, for helping to take a “bite out of crime.”
