The Bobcat tradition aims to bring families and students together to celebrate and support high school and junior high student athletes. Head coach and Athletic Director John Livas would like to start a new tradition by involving the entire community in kicking off the new year.
The pep rally will feature performances from the Bobcat cheerleaders and the marching band, and a DJ will provide some music. All coaches, Bobcats and Lady Cat athletes will be recognized. Coach Livas hopes to pack Bobcat stadium with hundreds of people. It will be a great way to spend the evening. There will be free ice cream provided after the pep rally.
The community pep rally serves as the official kickoff of the 2013 football season. Nothing brings a community together like a varsity football game, organizers say. A football game showcases the band, cheer and football teams, and everyone shows up to cheer on those groups. This event also will celebrate all fall sports.
The varsity team will take on Three Rivers at Three Rivers on Friday at 7:30 p.m., and everyone is encouraged to attend.
