Mrs. Salinas was born Dec. 28, 1948, in Beeville to Merced and Maclovia (Medina) Hernandez. She married Ruben Salinas and was employed at City Cleaners for many years. She was committed to the cause of Christ and serving others as she was an active parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Skidmore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Mercede Hernandez; and a sister, Rufina Lara.
Survivors include a son, Gerald (Margaret) Salinas of Beeville and grandson, Gerald Salinas II; three sisters, Susana Perez of Wharton, Jacinta Hernandez of Calallen and Elvira Hernandez of Beeville; grandchildren, Amanda, Danielle, Aaron and Joseph; one great-grandson; a sister-in-law, Belia Hernandez; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home and resumed from 5 to 9 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church with a rosary beginning at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Immaculate Conception Hall in Skidmore at 10 a.m. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Matthew Hernandez, David Lara, Bobby Del Bosque, Joseph Arrellano, Randy Aguirre, Anthony Treviño, Buck Nolf and Aaron Herrera.
Honorary pallbearers were her Immaculate Conception Church family.
