Lack of information

At the City Council meeting on Aug. 27, it did not surprise me that the city manager played naive again. After the mayor asked point-blank for comparison numbers on water cost, the city manager had to go back to her office to retrieve the information and still, with a handful of papers, failed to produce (or did not want to give) any figures.

But I was surprised to see the city manager convince the City Council members to accept more presentations from other reverse osmosis companies.

As of yet, no information has been provided about city wells at 400-600 feet of depth and quality or cost.

The water committee was a charade from day one; no real figures were presented to the water committee by management to make an informed decision. Were we just window dressing?

The only question now is the city management working for the Beeville residents or for the reverse osmosis companies wanting to take over our water rights?
