Join us as we celebrate the Bluebonnet Days Coronation this Friday, April 19 at 6 p.m. at the Kenedy High School Auditorium. Admission tickets for adults are $5 and free for students. The former Miss Bluebonnet Days, her Court and all new contestants vying for the title will perform a dance number to “God Bless Texas.” Contestants will be judged on a 3 minute informal interview, western and formal wear and an on stage impromptu question. In an effort to encourage and assist our young citizens in their journey to a higher education, the Kenedy Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that this year's Queen and her court will receive the following scholarships: Miss Bluebonnet Days Queen - $1,000.00 scholarship, Miss Bluebonnet Days 1st Runner-up - $750.00 scholarship and Miss Bluebonnet Days 2nd Runner-up - $500.00 scholarship. In addition, ConocoPhillips will present the Miss Bluebonnet Days Queen and her Court with a beautiful Champion's Choice belt buckle engraved with their winning title. Awards for Most Photogenic, Best Interview, Most Cooperative and Miss Congeniality will also be presented that night. You don’t want to miss this magnificent event.

There will be a Bluebonnet Days Queen’s Coronation Party following the ceremony that will be held at the Kenedy City Hall from 9 p.m. to 12 midnight. The party will include a teen dance, pizza and video games. Admission tickets are $5.

The Bluebonnet Days Festival is just a couple weeks away. On Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m. there will be a margarita contest at the Joe Gully Park. The Bluebonnet Days Parade will be on Saturday, April 27 in downtown Kenedy. After the parade, there will be a celebration at the Joe Gully Park including shopping, games, live entertainment, a BBQ cook-off and so much more. If you are interested in participating in this event, please call the Kenedy Chamber at 830-583-3223.
