Mr. Puga was born May 1, 1960, in Beeville to Paula Fernandez and Benito Puga. He married Elisa Pena in Beeville on Dec. 11, 1978, and was a forklift operator for 20 years. He retired in 2002 from Wastequip/May Fab and was a member of the Catholic church. He enjoyed bowling and watching movies.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Benito Puga Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Elisa Puga of Beeville; two daughters, Brenda Puga and Bianca Puga, both of Beeville; a grandson, Brandon Villarreal of Beeville; his parents, Benito and Paula Puga of Beeville; six sisters, Anita Guzman, Carmen Garcia, Odelia Pena, Dalia Rodriguez, Modesta Hernandez and Jenny Chavez, all of Beeville; and four brothers, Domingo Puga, Arnolfo Puga, Argumero Puga and Angel Puga, all of Beeville.
Visitation was held Sunday, May 4, from noon to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7 o’clock.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, May 5, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial followed in Pettus Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Benito Puga III, Domingo Puga, Arnolfo Puga, Argumero Puga, Angel Puga, Johnny Puga, Domingo Puga Jr., Jacob Puga and Argumero Puga Jr.
