On Sunday at 3 p.m., there will be a special worship service held at Faith Lutheran Church. Pastor Gary Conklin will be installed as the new pastor at Faith Lutheran Church by Pastor Don Taylor, the Gulf Coast Conference dean.

Conklin recently graduated from the Lutheran Seminary Program of the Southwest and this past weekend was ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America by Southwest Synod Bishop Ray Tiemann. That service was held at Saint John, Conklin’s home church, in Robstown.

Conklin has been serving the congregation in the capacity of “interim” pastor since Oct. 1, and is already familiar to many area residents. He is active in the Beeville Ministerial Alliance, serves on the Beeville Vineyard board, is the church’s representative to the Chamber of Commerce and is active in the local Windmill Emmaus Community. He also was selected to be one of the speakers this past year for the St. Phillip’s Lenten Luncheon Series.

All area residents are invited to join Faith Lutheran for this special service and help welcome Conklin, his wife, Gracie, and their two children to the community. A special invitation is extended to all area clergy to come and welcome Pastor Gary to Beeville. There will be a reception in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
