BEEVILLE – A local individual has issued a personal, anonymous challenge of a matching $750 grant/donation that will be issued to the Lions Club and the Sports and Recreation Foundation of Beeville for use in funding the improvements at Klipstein Park. That is, if it is matched.

All funds received are to be used in providing improvements in playground equipment for the park, but the new play-scape is much more than just that. It will provide things to crawl through, climb on and over and provide a chance for those using the equipment to improve physical fitness. It will still be lots of fun for the children, but it also will provide a chance to get the kids of Beeville outside to play and be more active.

If you are interested in matching this $750 challenge or any part thereof, and wish to donate to the park improvements, contact Cheryl Meynig from the Lions Club at or by telephone at 210-912-9360, or Bruce Harper from the Sports and Recreation Foundation of Beeville at or 361-318-1407.
