Mr. Richard was born May 27, 1920, in Eunice, La., to Homer Richard and Alia Darbonne Richard. He married Nola Green in 1949 in Nederland and was retired as an office equipment sales and serviceman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dovy Canalty, Martin Richard and Roosevelt Richard; and four sisters, Vinus Beaugh, Nita Mott, Eva Abshire and Ida Hollinger.
Survivors include two sons, James V. (Pat) Richard of Bastrop and Philip J. (Kathy) Richard of Sandia; two daughters, Theresa (Kenny) Dillon of Waco and Joan (Bobby) Maines of Carlisle, Ky.; a sister, Diola LaBove of China, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Wednesday, April 3, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel with a rosary recited at 7 o’clock that evening.
The funeral service was conducted there at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 4. Interment followed at Beeville Memorial Park.
